Disney Lakeshore Lodge Gets Its First Room Design Reveal

Disney Lakeshore Lodge just went from "resort we know is coming" to "resort we can actually picture ourselves staying in." Disney Parks Blog updated its coverage today with the first real look at what guest rooms will feel like inside, and dropped the date DVC members can start locking in reservations. If you've been waiting to hear something concrete about this Bay Lake newcomer, today is the day.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge's First Look at Guest Rooms

The room reveal is the headline here, and it leans hard into the nature-and-animation mashup Disney has been teasing for this resort. The one and two bedroom Lake Houses get dramatic A-frame architecture with floor to ceiling windows and a Brother Bear theme running through the primary bedroom, right down to a Northern Lights inspired lighting feature that sounds like it could be a room highlight on its own.

Duo Studios take their cue from Encanto, described as a colorful, cozy retreat for two. Deluxe Studios and the One- and Two-Bedroom Villas both draw from Bambi, with warm natural materials, soft earth tones, and original concept artwork pulled straight from the film archives.

At the top end, the three bedroom Grand Villas go full Fantasia and sleep up to twelve, with multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a private patio looking out over Bay Lake.

It's a nice change of pace from the generic "modern and elegant" language a lot of resort previews lean on. Each room category is tied to a specific film, which should make Lakeshore Lodge feel more like a themed experience than just a place to sleep between park days.

Mark Your Calendar, Reservations Opened October 6

Early rental reservations for Disney Vacation Club members open October 6, 2026. Annual Passholders get their shot the next day, October 7, and general public booking follows on October 8. If you're a DVC member hoping to snag a stay during Lakeshore Lodge's opening window, that first week of October is the date to have circled, since inventory for a brand new resort tends to move fast in those early hours.

What Exactly Is Lakeshore Lodge, Anyway?

For anyone just tuning in, Disney's Lakeshore Lodge is set to open July 1, 2027 on the shores of Bay Lake, with boat transportation connecting straight to Magic Kingdom. The resort will have 967 rooms across a wide spread of options, from Duo Studios and Resort Studio Kings all the way up to those Grand Villas, plus a Hidden Willow Presidential Suite and club level rooms with access to a lounge called the Artist's Nest.

The whole property leans into a nature inspired look, with river recovered cypress wood accents, a blown glass "Colors of the Wind" sculpture anchoring the lobby, and a fiberoptic river feature built into the lobby floor.

Dining, Bars, and Lounges

On the food side, Moonglade is shaping up to be the signature table service spot right on the lake, with Bay Lake Provisions handling quick service and grab and go needs. Paint Out Point Bar & Grill covers the pool bar duties, and Dandelion Terrace is a lounge positioned for fireworks views, which sounds like a solid evening hangout even if you're not staying on property. For recreation, there's a lot packed in here.

Outdoor Recreation: The Wetlands at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge

The Wetlands area includes Heron Shores climbing features and the interactive Otter Springs. There's a lazy river called Daydream River. All these water play areas have been thoughtfully inspired by the music and storytelling of Pocohantas. Lakeshoe Lodge will also feature a zero entry pool with a waterslide at Lakeshore Lagoon. A quieter leisure pool and whirlpool spa at Cypress Point.

Should You Start Planning Now?

Honestly, yes, at least loosely. A July 2027 opening still feels far off, but between the room designs finally being public and a firm October 6 DVC booking date, this is the point where Disney Lakeshore Lodge stops being speculation and starts being something you can actually plan a summer Walt Disney World trip around. If you're a DVC member with any interest in an opening window stay, get that October 6 date on your radar now rather than scrambling the week of.

Alright, that's all for now. See ya next time.
