Palo Is Dropping Its Prix Fixe Menu, and Pearl and Platinum Cruisers Just Lost Brunch
Starting October 22, Palo, Palo Steakhouse and Palo Trattoria are dropping the prix fixe dinner menu for à la carte across the entire Disney Cruise Line fleet. The bigger news is for Pearl and Platinum Castaway Club members. Their $55 per person Palo credit is now [enforceably] dinner only which takes brunch officially off the table.
Ciao, Prix Fixe
Disney Cruise Line's adults-only Italian spots are moving away from the set dinner menu and toward what Disney calls "a selection of our guests' favorite items." Instead of one price for the full meal, you'll order à la carte.
The switch rolls out ship by ship over five days.
- Oct. 22 Disney Wonder
- Oct. 23 Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream and Disney Wish
- Oct. 24 Disney Magic, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny
- Oct. 26 Disney Adventure

Losing the prix fixe is a bummer. It was one of the simplest, best values on the ship. You knew what you were paying before the bread basket hit the table, and you could order a little of everything without doing math. Disney hasn't published the new à la carte prices in this update, so we'll find out soon enough whether a full Palo night costs more than it used to.

The Real Bite Is at Brunch
Here's the part that stings. Platinum and Pearl Castaway Club members, plus guests staying in the same stateroom, keep their Palo benefit as a $55 per person credit toward the new à la carte dinner menu. Disney's announcement then adds that the benefit is limited to dinner only, and that "as a reminder, brunch is not included."
Disney calls it a reminder. For a lot of loyal cruisers it's news. Until now, the credit could be put toward Palo brunch, and plenty of Pearl and Platinum guests chose brunch on purpose. It's a long, lazy sea day meal with a view, and it doesn't cost you a night away from your rotational dining team.

I'm one sailing sort of earning the Palo credit so this one doesn't feel great. I've been looking forward to using the credit at brunch on the Disney Believe over Christmas 2027. That will be my first sailing at the Platinum Castaway Club status. I hadn't really planned on making a Palo dinner reservation since Brunch is a much easier ask of my family. Like others, I don't like missing the rotational dining. It's genuinely one the best times to catch up with our kids and discuss the days adventures.
Pearl and Platinum are DCL's two highest Castaway Club tiers. These are the guests who've sailed the most, and they're the people most likely to book the next ship before it even has a name. Taking brunch away from them is a huge blow (even if it wasn't ever an official perk), and it lands the same week many of them were scrambling to book the Disney Believe.
The rest of the fine print stays the same. Beverages, gratuities and anything over the $55 credit are still on you.

Rebook Before the Pastries Arrives
If you're a Pearl or Platinum member with Palo brunch already on your schedule, look at it now.
- Check "My Reservations" on the Navigator app to see what's booked and what's open at dinner.
- Make changes online up to three days before sailing. After that, you're working it out on embarkation day.
- Watch for a SeaMail. Disney says eligible Pearl and Platinum members will get one with these updates.
- Budget for the extras. Drinks, gratuity and anything over $55 per person aren't covered.
If brunch was the whole point, it's still on the menu. It just comes out of your own pocket now instead of a well earned Castaway Club benefit.

Grazie for the Brunches
À la carte might turn out fine, and it may even be a better deal for lighter eaters. Pulling the credit from brunch for the guests who've been most loyal to Disney Cruise Line is harder to defend. If you've got Palo brunch booked on an upcoming sailing, tell me what happens onboard. I want to know if anyone gets grandfathered in.
Alright, that's all for now. See ya next time.
