Another entry in the ongoing Letters from Lakeshore series by Disney Parks Blog was just added and the timing could not be better for anyone tracking this brand new Walt Disney World Resort closely.

Branch & Brush - a New Lounge Revealed at Disney Lakeshore Lodge

This update gives us a sharper look at the lobby plus a first look at a brand new gathering space called Branch & Brush. If you have been following this Bay Lake resort since the first teaser dropped back in the spring, this is the most tangible glimpse yet of what you will actually walk into once the doors open.

And not to be hyperbolic, it looks incredible.

A Closer Look at the Grand Lobby

The lobby description builds on something Disney Parks Blog has mentioned before, and this update fills in the details that make it click. Floor to ceiling windows frame the Bay Lake views as soon as you step inside, and a shimmering fiberoptic river runs through the floor, a nod to the river imagery from Pocahontas.

New to this update is the centerpiece sitting in the middle of that fiberoptic river, a custom bronze sculpture from Walt Disney Imagineering with Disney animated characters etched directly into the metal. Overhead hangs the blown glass Colors of the Wind sculpture, with hundreds of individual glass leaves suspended to catch the light and add movement across the whole space.

It is a lot of storytelling packed into one entrance, and it suggests Lakeshore Lodge is leaning hard into being a destination in its own right, not just a place to drop your bags. I can’t wait to see how the vibe shifts in this space as the lighting through those giant windows changes throughout the day.

Branch & Brush Brings a New Place to Unwind

The real headline here is Branch & Brush, a lounge located just beyond the lobby that is making its debut in this update. It is built around handcrafted cocktails and Bay Lake views, which is a pretty solid combination for winding down after a long day in the parks.

The design leans into the changing seasons, with rich colors and natural textures running through the room, and the centerpiece is a color changing chandelier that cycles through all four seasons over time. That is a nice touch for a resort that returning guests might visit more than once a year, since the room should feel a little different depending on when you stop by.

Branch & Brush joins the previously announced Paint Out Point Bar & Grill as a second gathering space revealed for the resort, so guests heading to Lakeshore Lodge will have more than one option depending on the mood they are after that evening.

And don’t forget about Dandelion Terrace, where guests can gather together to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks light-up the evening sky.

What It Means for Your 2027 Disney Cruise Plans

The booking calendar Disney already locked in, but it is worth repeating since the dates are right around the corner. The booking schedule is staggered depending on your affiliation and breakdown in the following schedule.

  • October 6 - Disney Vacation Club members

  • October 7 - WDW Annual Passholders

  • October 8 - General Public

With Lakeshore Lodge still targeting a July 1, 2027 opening and 967 rooms spread across its room categories, this is shaping up to be one of the more detail rich resort rollouts we have seen in a while, and it sounds like there is still more to come before the doors actually open.

In fact, this place is genuinely exciting for me. Mostly because of the planned lazy river but also because they keep surprising me with details that make me think they’re really getting the hang of building these new, modern-style Resorts.

If you’re hoping to book a stay during that opening window, now is a good time to have your dates narrowed down and your My Disney Experience account ready to go.

Alright, that’s all for now. See ya next time.
