Stateroom Charging Station
Anker Prime Charger 160W (3-Port USB-C)
I pride myself on being a minimalist travel packer. It’s taken practice (and a lot of encouragement from Rick Steves). My mantra: if it doesn’t fit in my rollaboard or carry-on backpack, I don’t need it.
But keeping my family’s phones, iPads, power banks, cameras, and everything else charged is non-negotiable. The 160W Anker Prime Charger is the foundation of my stateroom setup. With three USB-C ports, it handles the whole ecosystem without turning the bedside table into a cable graveyard. I also love the small LED screen that shows how many watts are outputting to each cable, and the app makes it easy to prioritize a specific device when you need it most.

QUICK NOTE: Cruise lines typically don’t allow surge protectors—stick to cruise-friendly charging solutions (like the Anker Prime Charger).
3-in-1 Ku Xiu Magnetic Wireless Charger
The first thing I plug into my Anker Prime Charger is the Ku Xiu 3-in-1. This foldable charging dock barely takes up any space, yet it charges my iPhone (Nightstand mode!), Apple Watch, and AirPods all at once. That’s three daily-use items handled with one outlet, which means the rest of my stateroom setup stays simple and tidy.
Best part: it fits perfectly on those small Disney Cruise Line bedside nightstands.

Power On The Go
Anker Nano Power Bank
My favorite travel battery is the kind you’ll actually carry. The Anker Nano Power Bank is the only MagSafe-compatible charger I bring. I demand the convenience of extra power and I demand the device meet certain (completely arbitrary) aesthetic standards.
The Nano is slim, clean, and matches my white iPhone almost perfectly—plus it’s 5,000mAh, which is enough to keep my phone alive well into the evening when I’m taking photos, navigating, and inevitably getting pulled into “just one more clip.”

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…
I kicked off a new Concept to Reality series with a deep dive into the Disney Destiny’s Black Panther–inspired Grand Hall—comparing the early concept art to the real-life “living theater” we’ve started to see in previews. From the T’Challa statue to those wild lighting effects, this space is already rewriting what a Disney Cruise Line atrium can be.

Upgraded Cruise Comfort
Warmco 7” Travel Fan
Even with the air conditioner cranked, cruise cabins can feel warm at night and ports can be aggressively humid. This doesn’t bode well for me as I run hot! This Warmco 7” Travel Fan is powerful and keeps the air moving. It’s also built around a large battery and is designed for long runtimes. It easily gets me through the night. plus, I can charge it’s internal battery while I’m out exploring so it’s ready to go again when it’s time to rest before the next days’ adventures. As a bonus, I enjoys the hum a fan. It lulls me to sleep.

TheraGun Mini Gen 3
If your idea of a great vacation includes not feeling like a pretzel after a long travel day, a Theragun is an elite gift. Therabody’s mini lineup is specifically positioned as ultra-portable relief that fits in your bag. While there’s cheaper options, I’ve had my TheraGun Mini for 5 years and it’s still going strong making it an exceptional value. This is especially true when compared to the cost of a massage at any Disney Resort or at Senses Spa. I hardly go anywhere without my TheraGun Mini these days. The 3rd generation TheraGun Mini even sports a USB-C charger, making it perfectly compatible with the Anker Prime Charger we talked about above.

ULANZI MA38 is a magnetic tripod for iPhone with double-sided 1/4'' arca screw
For a Photographers Creator Kit
Ulanzi MA38
This is a super versatile add-on for cruising, parks, planes, trains—everything. The Ulanzi MA38 can act as a MagSafe-style phone stand/tripod/mount for vlogging, quick family shots, and stable “walking around the ship” footage. It easily comes with me wherever I go thanks to a convenient carabiner style clip.
It’s also my primary tripod when I’m filming at my desk because the magnets are strong. That same strength comes in handy on the go—attach it to a railing, a pole, or any other metal surface for steady shots. (Yes, including the occasional Magic Kingdom trash can. No shame.)
It’s also incredible for flying—especially if you’re on Southwest and miss seatback screens. The MA38 hangs on the seatback and holds your phone so you can watch Bluey without getting a kink in your neck.

Insta360 X5
I resisted getting an action cam for a while cause I’m more of a lazy traveler than a high-energy adventure sport traveler. But I recently took the Insta360 X5 on the Disney Destiny Maiden Voyage. It flawlessly captured, in stunning 8K detail and in 360*, the moment my family boarded the ship for the first time. It’s a memory we won’t soon forget. Before the Disney Destiny I took the Insta360 X4 to Perfect Day at CocoCay and grabbed a stunning shot floating on the water with Wonder of the Seas in the background.
If you’re capturing cruise moments for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, or just your own photo album this is the “main character camera.” Insta360 positions the X5 as a flagship 360 action cam with upgrades like scratch resistance and replaceable lens protection. I highly recommend the Lens Replacement Kit as well. After letting my kids manhandle the camera down the waterslide at Pier Sixty-Six the lenses were scratched and in need of replacing. Luckily, the replacements are easily installed and relatively cheap.
I also recommend the Invisible Dive Case. My kids loved snorkeling around the reefs at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point with the Insta360 in hand while they searched for schools of fish or Sting Ray.

Carry + Style
Peak Design Outdoor Sling 7L
This is my “theme park brain” in cruise form: a sling that’s built for movement and keeps your camera/gear close without feeling bulky. Peak Design describes it as sleek, ultralight, and versatile for outdoor or city use. I used to carry a backpack everywhere I went. The Peak Design Outdoor Sling changed that. This tiny package helps further my minimalist travel desires without having to sacrifice the tech or camera gear I need most for a full day of adventures.
The adjustable strap accommodates small or large individuals comfortably. A small, hidden pocket on the outside easily accommodates my iPhone and magnetically closes to secure it. Plus, I can pack a ton of gear including my Sony a7IV, a zoom lens, a Pocket Dispo, an Insta360 X5 w selfie stick, the Anker Nano Power Bank, a Gorilla Pod, the Ulanzi MA38, my passport, and various odds and ends like an Apple AirTag, chapstick or a MagicBand+. I don’t leave my stateroom, or step foot into a Disney Park, without this bag stuffed with all the good stuff.

Melin Coronado Hydro XL
What kind of hat makes it on a list full of technology and gadgets? How about one that is water & sweat repellent, offers UPF protection, is odor-resistant, is made from moisture wicking material, and, get this, it floats! Thats the kind of hat that ends up on this list. I wear one everyday. My wife even wears one when we’re out in the sun all day.
The Florida sun is only rivaled by the Bahamian heat. Whether you’re lounging on the pool deck, in the clear cool waters of Disney Castaway Cay, or enduring a Rope Drop to Park close day at Walt Disney World you need to protect your dome. A hat should handle sun, sweat, and “oops I got splashed.” The Coronado Hydro line is built with a water-resistant exterior, moisture-wicking interior, and a buoyant visor core. I have many Melin hats and I don’t go anywhere with them. They’re versatile enough for both Parks and beach activities. Even after getting wet they retain their shape and continue looking great enough for dinner at 1923 on any Wish-class Disney ship.
