Your Guide to Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 at Disney California Adventure

Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 is back at Disney California Adventure, and if you've never been to one of these hard ticket Halloween parties before, there's a lot more to plan around than just showing up in a costume. Between the entry times, the treat trails, and the food that's only around for a few weeks a year, it helps to know what you're actually paying for before you book a date. Here's the practical rundown, minus the fluff.
When is Oogie Boogie Bash?
The party takes over DisneyCaliforniaAdventure on select nights from August 18 through October 31, 2026. Party hours run 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., which is a solid five hour window once the park thins out from daytime crowds. The catch, and it's a good one, is that OBB ticket holders don't have to wait until 6 p.m. to get in. Anyone with an OogieBoogieBash ticket can enter the park starting at 3 p.m.! So you effectively get a few bonus hours of regular park time built into your night before the spookier programming kicks off.

Because this is a separately ticketed event with limited capacity per night, not every date sells the same. As of publication, tickets were still available for select nights, but that's the kind of thing that can change fast now that we’re in September, so I wouldn't sit on a decision too long if you have a specific night in mind.

What Your Ticket Actually Includes
This is the part people underestimate. Your ticket isn't just a wristband to get through the gate, it comes with a handful of extras baked in. You get a treat bag handed to you at arrival, a commemorative event guide and map, and unlimited digital PhotoPass downloads for the night, which you access through a QR code printed right on your wristband. That PhotoPass access stays valid for 45 days after the party, so you don't have to sort through and download everything before you even leave the parking structure.

Use that included PhotoPass access to snap pics of all the rarely seen and unique villains and characters around the park that only make appearances during the event. For specific characters check out our rundown of every character at Oogie Boogie Bash this year.

You'll also notice shorter wait times on a handful of attractions during party hours, since the crowd is capped well below a normal day crowd. That alone is worth factoring in if you've been putting off a ride because the standby line during the day is never worth it.
This year, there’s also the brand new Madame Leon’s Swinging Wake - A Haunted Mansion Street Party that took over for the popular Frightfully Fun Parade (more on that later).

The Food and Drinks Worth Planning Around
A Halloween party lives and dies by its snacks, and this lineup leans into the season. The Oktoberfest Dog stood out to me on paper alone, a pork and cheddar sausage loaded with sauerkraut, caraway seeds, and a cheesy beer mustard.

For drinks, there's the Pumpkin Pie Mickey Shake if you're keeping things kid friendly, and the Haunted Highway Cocktail over at Cozy Cone 4 for the adults, a mix of tequila, pineapple lemonade, blue Curaçao, apple liqueur, Sprite, and grenadine, topped with gummy worms for good measure. If you want something bigger to share, look for the event exclusive Headless Horseman Bucket, though it's limited to two per person.

Treat trails are scattered through the party too, and they include allergy friendly options, which is a nice touch for families who usually have to plan their whole night around one kid's dietary needs. If you want to make an evening of it without worrying about seating, the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party is available for an extra fee and includes reserved seating for the street party along with its own spread of treats and drinks.

Villains Grove, the Street Party, and Where the Characters Fit In
Two of the bigger draws this year are Madame Leota's Swinging Wake street party and the Villains Grove walkthrough. I’m eagerly awaiting our first viewing of Madame Leota’s Swinging wake when we attend OBB on September 17th. Initial reviews and reactions seem positive so I’m hopefull it'll be the fun, energetic replacement to Frightfully Fun Parade is supposed to be. Although, we all know this new street party was initially a stop-gap because CoCo attraction construction messed up the traditional DCA parade route.
On the contrary, I’ve had mixed reactions to Villains Grove walkthrough. In concept Villains Grove sounds intriguing but in my experience it felt kinda flat. Some themed-lighting and a fog machine does make a compelling experience. Hopefully they’ve stepped it up this year. We’ll see.

Beyond that, a wide variety of character meet and greets are happening throughout the party as well, with everyone dressed for the occasion but we already went deep on exactly who shows up and where to find them so I won't rehash all of that here. If meeting a specific villain is your main reason for going, that's the post to check.

Kuzco’s Poison Sipper was a Magic Key exclusive last Halloween
Merchandise and a Few Closing Thoughts
If you're the type who likes a souvenir from every seasonal event, Elias & Co, Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs are all carrying event exclusive merchandise for this year's Bash. Last year I scored a Kuzco’s Poison Sipper (Magic Key exclusive) but nothing this year really stood out to me personally. But im not big on merch or souvenirs to begin with.
My honest take is that Oogie Boogie Bash earns its reputation as one of the better after hours events on the calendar, mostly because of how much is actually included in the ticket price rather than nickel and dimed as add-ons.
The dessert party is really the only true upsell here. If you've been debating whether a date is worth booking, I'd treat "still available" as a soft deadline rather than a guarantee, and grab your what’s left sooner than later.
Alright, that’s all for now. See ya next time.
