Typhoon Lagoon Reopens Jan. 27, 2027, and Blizzard Beach Covers Your Water Park Day Until Then

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park reopens Jan. 27, 2027, and Blizzard Beach stays open through Jan. 26, so there's a water park on every date of a winter trip. The Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass covers both, costs $89 plus tax for ages 10 and up and runs through May 15, 2027.

When Typhoon Lagoon Reopens

Typhoon Lagoon has been closed for its seasonal refurbishment since early September, and Disney now has the date. It reopens Jan. 27, 2027.

That brings back the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, which Disney bills as North America's largest wave pool, along with the Crush 'n' Gusher water coaster, the Castaway Creek lazy river and Ketchakiddee Creek for the little ones. Disney's announcement doesn't mention anything new for the reopening, so expect the Typhoon Lagoon you remember, freshly refurbished.

Blizzard Beach Is the Open Water Park Until Jan. 26

While Typhoon Lagoon is closed, the open water park is Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park. It's open through Jan. 26, the day before Typhoon Lagoon comes back.

So if your trip is between now and late January, Blizzard Beach is your water park. Disney hasn't said what happens to Blizzard Beach after Jan. 26, so if your trip lands after that, plan on Typhoon Lagoon and check the park calendar before you go. Florida winters also bring the occasional cold-weather closure, so keep your water park day flexible if you can.

Which Water Park to Plan For, by Trip Date

  • Now through Jan. 26. Blizzard Beach. The seasonal pass works there.
  • Jan. 27 onward. Typhoon Lagoon is back.
  • Feb. 19 to 21 and March 20 to 28. The seasonal pass is blocked out, so you'd need a regular water park ticket on those days.
  • After May 15. The 2027 seasonal pass ends.

The pass makes the most sense if you'll go more than once, or if you're local and want water park days through spring. For a single visit, compare it against a one-day water park ticket for your dates on Disney's site.

I love wanding around the tropical paradise of Typhoon Lagoon. I could, quite literally, float around the lazy all day. But after visiting both water parks the concensus among the family is Blizzard Beach is a bit more diverse and offers more for younger kids.

Either way, I really don't think you can go wrong with a day in the water.

Alright, that's all for now. See ya next time.
